Your Baraat, Our Responsibility: Behind the Celebration

Your favourite song comes on. The dhol picks up, your cousins pull you into the dancing, and the wedding entrance is just ahead. Those are the moments a baraat is made for.

While you enjoy them, our team has a different job: staying in touch, keeping an eye on the procession and bringing the music, lights and entry together. At Book My Baraat, wedding baraat coordination is part of looking after your celebration.

A great baraat should feel exciting for the family and welcoming for every guest. That means thoughtful planning, clear communication and a team that treats baraatis with respect.

Your songs, your baraat

Every family has that one song that gets everyone dancing. Tell us yours. A few favourites from the groom, a track the cousins love and the right song for the entry help us make the music feel personal.

Before the wedding, share a short list of must-play songs with us, along with anything you would prefer to skip. Be specific about the groom's entry track and the moment you want it played. Our coordinator and DJ can then work from the same brief.

Requests on the day are welcome too. Share them with our coordinator so they reach the DJ without you having to work your way through the crowd or towards the equipment. We will fit requests around the entry cues, the flow of the music and the venue's sound timings.

If you are choosing DJ on Wheels with dhol, we also discuss how you want those moments to come together. You might want a dhol-led start, your favourite dance tracks along the way and a particular song as you arrive.

One team, in constant communication

A baraat brings a lot of people together: the DJ, dhol players, lighting attendants, the entry team, the venue staff and your family. Each has a part to play, and timing matters. If the groom is getting ready, the venue needs a few more minutes or the family wants another song, that information needs to reach the right people.

Our coordinators use headsets to stay connected on the ground. A cue can reach the DJ or support team without someone having to run through the crowd or shout over the music. That lets us respond to what is happening around the procession as it moves.

We also ask your family to nominate one main contact. They can share an update with our coordinator, who can pass it to the team. You should be able to celebrate with your guests while we handle those conversations.

Keeping baraatis comfortable and safe

Baraatis include everyone from children eager to join the dancing to grandparents who prefer to walk at their own pace. Their comfort and safety deserve attention throughout the procession.

Our focus is on keeping movement organised: allowing space around the entry car and equipment, watching for crowded points and helping the procession approach the venue in a controlled way. When people are dancing, filming and moving together, our team needs to keep paying attention to what is happening around them.

Before the celebration, we discuss the route and entrance with you and the venue. Access, turns, uneven ground and the space available for the selected setup all matter. We plan around the actual location and stay alert to changes on the day.

If you have elderly guests, young children or anyone who needs extra assistance, tell us during planning. Knowing that in advance helps us consider their needs when coordinating the arrival.

An entry everyone is ready for

The entry is a moment your family has been waiting for. The music cue, the groom's arrival, the lighting and the venue's welcome should all come together around it.

We discuss the procession route, assembly point and expected arrival time before the wedding. On the ground, our coordinator stays in touch with the team and your family contact, so an update about the groom or the venue can reach the people who need it.

There is room for an extra dance and an unexpected family favourite along the way. Our job is to keep track of the next step while you enjoy those moments. If the venue needs more time or your plans change, let our coordinator know so we can adjust together.

Tips are a choice, never a demand

Nobody should have to negotiate with a performer in the middle of their wedding celebration. Our position is clear: tips are entirely voluntary.

We do not allow our team to pressure baraatis for tips, haggle with family members or hold up the procession or entry over a payment demand. If a guest chooses to offer a tip out of appreciation, that is their choice. It is never a condition for the celebration to continue.

If anyone approaches your family in a way that makes them uncomfortable, tell our coordinator straight away. You should have one person to turn to, rather than being left to handle an awkward conversation yourself.

We discuss the booking inclusions and agreed charges with you beforehand. Your wedding day is for celebrating with your people.
